What is Foundation?
The BMU Foundation Programme is a one-year course, which aims to prepare students for academic success at university.

Who are our candidates?
Graduates of schools, lyceums, and vocational colleges with an English level not lower than IELTS 5.5 or equivalent (not lower than TOEFL 46).
For those who do not have a minimum IELTS 5.5 certification, we offer a FREE BMU English exam, co-created and approved by the University of Reading, Great Britain, which takes place in the format of face-to-face testing.
What awaits you at the Foundation Programme at BMU?
Tuition Fees – Foundation Programme
The 2025-2026 annual tuition fee for students with an IELTS certificate of 6.0 or higher (or equivalent: TOEFL ≥ 60, BMU English Exam ≥ HIGH PASS B) is 32 000 000 UZS.
The 2025-2026 annual tuition fee for students with an IELTS certificate of 5.5 (or equivalent: TOEFL 46-59, BMU English Exam = PASS) is 40,000,000 UZS.
University grants covering 50-100% of tuition fees will be awarded to two categories of applicants:
1) 50% BMU Academic Grants are awarded to ALL outstanding applicants with outstanding academic achievements. All grant recipients must satisfy the following minimum criteria:
The 2025-2026 annual tuition fee for 50% BMU Academic Grant recepients is 20 000 000 UZS
2) 100% BMU Social Grants are awarded up to top 20 outstanding applicants from low-income families. Applicants must provide all relevant documents confirming their low-income status and satisfy the following minimum criteria:
BMU Social Grants are allocated to up to 20 applicants who have met the minimum criteria and ranked on their combined score, from highest to lowest: Combined Score = 5 * IELTS Score + Math Exam Score + Interview Score (the maximum possible Combined Score is 85).
3) 100% Ministry of Education Grants are awarded to outstanding applicants based on a) their academic achievements and b) their chosen specialities. All grant recipients must satisfy the following minimum criteria:
Ministry of Education Grants are allocated to the designated number of applicants (as determined by the Ministry of Education) who have met the minimum criteria and ranked on their combined score, from highest to lowest: Combined Score = 5 * IELTS Score + Math Exam Score + Interview Score (the maximum possible Combined Score is 85).
NOTE 1: An application for BMU Social Grants or Ministry of Education Grants can be submitted ONLY after the applicant has received an Offer Letter from the University. The deadline for submission of all required documents is July 31, 2025.
NOTE 2: All grants apply for the entire undergraduate programme (4 years), subject to the student’s maintaining a minimum average GPA of 2,0 for each academic year of their studies. If this condition is not satisfied, the student loses the grant and will be charged the annual tuition fee of 32 000 000.
Monthly stipends
BMU encourages students to succeed academically. After the first semester, students with high academic performance are granted a «Gold» or «Silver» stipend in the amount of up to 1,000,000 UZS (1 million sums) for the «Gold» category and 500,000 UZS (500 thousand sums) for the «Silver» category.

Graduates who successfully complete the Foundation year can continue their studies in one of the Bachelor’s programmes of the British Management University. Students who have completed all required modules and a final project in their chosen field of study will be eligible to take professional certification exams where possible.
