Eleanor is an instructor of International English and Academic Skills for first-year students in the BMU Foundation Programme. Originally from California, she has been teaching English in Uzbekistan for four academic years. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in the student-centered approach, encouraging her students to develop their English for creative, analytical, academic, and professional purposes. Eleanor’s research interests include media literacy and the merits/limits of AI in EFL teaching.
Before joining BMU, Eleanor taught secondary school and university English through U.S. State Department grants in regional Uzbekistan. During these grants, she developed extracurricular English programming for ACCESS and the American Corners. She also worked with American Councils as a Teacher Trainer for ESN:ESET and as a Media Literacy Instructor.
