Biography

Ms. Rachelle Bascara is a Ph.D. candidate at the Philosophy Department at Birkbeck College, University of London. For the last seven years, she has taught a variety of modules to undergraduate and master’s students at the Philosophy and Politics Departments at Birkbeck College and King’s College. These modules included political philosophy, ethics, business ethics, global politics, and others. She has presented her research at various prestigious academic conferences in Asia, Europe, and North America. Ms. Bascara is an Associate Fellow of the U.K.’s Higher Education Academy.

 

Outside of academia, Ms. Bascara has extensive experience in humanitarian and community work. She has served as a campaign coordinator for various fundraising and educational initiatives in London, specializing on issues of migrants in the U.K. She has also been a board member for the London-based charity, Kanlungan Filipino Consortium since 2014.

 

Ms. Bascara received her Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of the Philippines, and two Master’s degrees in Philosophy: her M.A. from the University College London and her MPhil Stud from Birkbeck College, University of London.
