Ms. Estela Eaton hails from the American Midwest. Born in Bloomington, Indiana, she completed high school in Chicago, Illinois, and has since lived in South Korea, Czech Republic, North Macedonia, the United Kingdom, and Uzbekistan. Through Georgetown University and the U.S. Department of State, she served as English Language Fellow for Urgench State University, and later joined the MA TESOL faculty at Webster University in Tashkent, where she also taught Literature courses in the BA Education program.
In addition to designing English language and Academic skills courses, she has designed and implemented professional development programs across the country, including courses and workshops for Philology, ESP, and TESOL faculty in higher education. Most recently, she provided teacher training for primary and secondary teachers through the ESET program with American Councils.
Ms. Eaton is passionate about serving British Management University as Director of Studies. She brings knowledge of Academic and Business English at tertiary level accumulated through years of teaching and developing curricula in these subjects. She is especially interested in how best to motivate university students and faculty in Uzbekistan regarding their international goals.
Ms. Eaton comes to BMU with a Master of Arts (with Distinction) in English Language Teaching and Drama Education from the University of Warwick; a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, specialising in Poetry, from San Diego State University; a Bachelor’s degree in English, specialising in Literature, from the University of Iowa; and a CELTA (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults) qualification from the University of Cambridge.
