Event

Orientation Week at BMU opened with an atmosphere of excitement, anticipation, and a strong sense of community. This annual event plays a key role in welcoming new students, helping them adapt to university life, and preparing them for both the academic and social journey ahead

The first day began with a vibrant opening ceremony featuring a concert and inspiring addresses from the university’s leadership team. Their speeches highlighted BMU’s values, vision, and the importance of building a supportive academic environment.

Following the official opening, students were introduced to their groups, mentors, and facilitators. These mentors, experienced peers and faculty representatives, guided them through the day, answered questions, and provided the first orientation to life on campus. Through a series of ice-breaking activities and team-building games, students began forming connections that will become the foundation for friendships, collaborations, and networks throughout their time at BMU. The day combined inspiration with interaction, ensuring that every student felt welcomed and included.

The second day shifted the focus to the academic dimension of student life. The Foundation Programme Overview introduced students to the curriculum structure and the principles that will shape their studies. During the Meet and Greet session, they had the opportunity to get to know their professors personally, setting the stage for constructive and open communication between faculty and students.

An important component of the day was the introduction to the Student Code of Conduct. This session emphasized the values of integrity, responsibility, and respect that define the BMU community. Students also explored the digital tools essential for their studies — the ERP system, Moodle, and Outlook — ensuring they are equipped to navigate academic processes effectively from the very beginning.

A highlight of the day was the meeting with Academic Counsellors, who will serve as long-term guides, helping students shape their academic paths, address challenges, and achieve personal and professional goals. The day concluded with the BMU QUEST, a dynamic and interactive activity designed to strengthen teamwork, problem-solving, and collaboration among new students.

The first two days of Orientation Week laid a strong foundation, combining inspiration, guidance, and community-building. They marked the beginning of an important journey for every new student — a journey of learning, growth, and belonging at BMU. The week continues with further activities that will deepen both academic understanding and social engagement, creating a truly memorable start to university life.
