In early April 2025, a group of BMU students traveled to the United Kingdom for a vibrant educational program that combined academic enrichment, cultural exchange, and international collaboration. The visit reflects BMU's commitment to providing students with global learning opportunities and exposure to world-leading academic institutions.
The delegation was led by BMU Rector Professor Yuri Loktionov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Alisher Khasanov, and Vice-Rector for Research Professor Montu Saxena, Director of the Cambridge Central Asia Forum and a distinguished physicist with more than 25 years of experience at the University of Cambridge.
Throughout the programme, students explored some of Cambridge's most iconic academic and cultural landmarks. Visits included the historic Cavendish Laboratory—home to more than 30 Nobel Prize winners—the University of Cambridge's unique archives, Jesus College, the world-renowned Cambridge University Library, and a traditional punting tour along the
River Cam, offering students a unique perspective on the city's rich academic heritage.
BMU students also participated in an intensive series of lectures, seminars, and workshops delivered by leading academics and researchers from the University of Cambridge. The programme covered a wide range of interdisciplinary topics, including English literature, economics, sustainability, architecture, innovation, research methodology, climate change, and the art market.
A key milestone of the visit was the signing of the BMU–Cavendish Development Initiative at the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge. The agreement establishes a pioneering framework for academic cooperation between British Management University and one of the world's leading research institutions, marking the first formal partnership of its kind between the University of Cambridge and a university in Uzbekistan.
The educational visit provided BMU students with invaluable opportunities to engage with internationally recognized scholars, experience one of the world's leading academic environments, and develop a broader global perspective. Such initiatives are integral to BMU's mission to prepare graduates who are academically accomplished, internationally minded, and ready to contribute to an increasingly interconnected world.

As part of the educational programme, BMU students spent a day exploring London, gaining a deeper appreciation of the United Kingdom's history, culture, and architectural heritage.
The visit included tours of some of the city's most iconic landmarks. Students admired Big Ben, one of the world's most recognisable clock towers and a symbol of British democracy, located beside the historic Houses of Parliament. They also visited Piccadilly Circus, London's vibrant entertainment hub famous for its illuminated displays and bustling atmosphere, and Trafalgar Square, one of the city's most celebrated public spaces, home to Nelson's Column and the National Gallery. The London experience also included a scenic boat cruise along the River Thames, offering students a unique perspective on the city's skyline and historic waterfront. From the river, they enjoyed spectacular views of some of London's most famous landmarks, including the London Eye, one of the world's tallest observation wheels, and Tower Bridge, while experiencing the city's distinctive blend of historic architecture and modern urban life.
A highlight of the day was a visit to the British Museum, one of the world's oldest and most prestigious museums, housing a collection of more than eight million artifacts representing the history, art, and cultures of civilizations from across the globe. Students explored internationally renowned exhibitions featuring ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Asian collections, gaining valuable insights into the richness of world history and cultural heritage.
The London programme provided students with an inspiring opportunity to experience one of the world's leading cultural capitals, complementing the academic component of the visit with first-hand exposure to Britain's rich history, global influence, and cultural legacy.
