The Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Educational Leadership programme is aimed to provide learners with a comprehensive foundation in TESOL, curriculum development, assessment design, and educational leadership.
This qualification is ideal for individuals either aspiring to, or currently leading in TESOL and educational settings, offering the skills to enhance teaching effectiveness, manage diverse classrooms, and drive improvements in language education and leadership practices.
This programme is suitable for both early career educators and more experienced professionals seeking to expand their expertise in TESOL and educational leadership, preparing them for leadership roles in dynamic educational environments. In response to the growing global demand for high-quality English language education, this programme will equip learners with the ability to develop and assess curricula, apply effective TESOL teaching methods, and take on leadership roles in TESOL settings.
Graduates will be prepared to influence teaching practices, promote student success, and continue their professional development throughout their careers. This qualification also offers a pathway for further academic study, including doctoral programmes in education or leadership.
The MA TESOL and Educational Leadership includes preparation and fee coverage for the University of Cambridge, Cambridge English Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) certificate. Students who complete all modular requirements and assessments will be awarded the TKT along with the MA TESOL and Educational Leadership postgraduate degree.
September and January are the standard enrolment entry points. Non-standard entry points may be considered (contact BMU for more information). The programme length is 3 semesters or approximately 16-17 months (September to December of next year or January to May of next year).
1) An undergraduate degree from a recognized institution.
2) IELTS ≥ 6.5 or an equivalent (TOEFL / APTIS) with all four individual components ≥ 6.0.
3) A successful interview with the Postgraduate Programmes Admission Committee for MSc, MBA and MA TESOL sites
Note: Students who enroll with an international bachelors’ degree that was taught in the medium of English must submit a language certificate guaranteeing the admission degree language requirements by the time of graduation in order to be awarded the MA TESOL and Educational Leadership degree.
