British Management University was proud to host students from leading Chinese universities — Shandong University of Finance and Economics (SDUFE), Duke Kunshan University, and Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) — as part of the International Summer Programme Camp 2026, creating a truly global learning environment where international and BMU students learned, collaborated, and built lasting connections.
Designed around the theme "Central Asia as a Crossroads of Business and Culture," the programme combined academic learning with practical experiences, cultural immersion, and international networking. Throughout the week, participants explored the unique role of Central Asia in global history and modern business while gaining valuable cross-cultural competencies essential for future global leaders.
The academic programme featured engaging lectures, workshops, and interactive sessions delivered by BMU faculty. Students explored fascinating topics including the Legends of the Silk Road, networking strategies inspired by Asian business culture, cross-cultural communication, the history of Central Asia, as well as workshops on negotiation skills and cross-cultural leadership. Students also worked in international teams, participated in presentation sessions, and exchanged ideas with peers from different academic and cultural backgrounds.
Beyond the classroom, participants enjoyed a vibrant student experience. The programme began with a campus tour, an opening ceremony, and an ice-breaking session that helped students quickly connect with one another.
During the camp, students explored Tashkent, visited historical landmarks, and participated in sports, movie nights, cultural games, karaoke, and traditional Uzbek cuisine events. These activities fostered friendship and cultural exchange.
One of the programme's highlights was an unforgettable visit to the Institute of the Sun in Parkent, where students explored one of Uzbekistan's most unique scientific facilities before spending the evening around a campfire and enjoying the breathtaking night sky—an experience that encouraged meaningful conversations and strengthened friendships beyond the academic setting.
Another memorable part of the programme was a two-day cultural visit to Samarkand, one of the world's oldest cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Students explored iconic architectural masterpieces, including Shahi Zinda, Hazrat Khizr Mosque, Ulugh Beg Madrasah, and the magnificent Registan Square, gaining a deeper appreciation of Uzbekistan's rich cultural heritage and its historical significance along the Silk Road. The trip also included networking activities, allowing participants to continue building international friendships in one of the country's most inspiring cultural settings.
The programme concluded with a graduation ceremony and reflection session, where participants shared experiences, celebrated achievements, and received certificates marking their successful completion of the International Summer Programme.
The International Summer Programme Camp demonstrated BMU’s commitment to offering students an international educational experience beyond traditional classroom learning. By uniting students from diverse countries and cultures, the programme fostered intercultural understanding, global perspectives, leadership skills, and lifelong friendships, preparing participants to succeed in an interconnected world.
