British Management University held its Foundation Programme Award Ceremony, celebrating the successful completion of the programme by its sixth cohort of students. The ceremony marked an important milestone in the students’ academic journeys as they received their Foundation Certificates from the University of Reading.
The event brought together students, their families, faculty members, university representatives and distinguished guests to recognise the achievements of the graduating cohort and celebrate the completion of their first major step towards higher education.
Among the distinguished guests were Associate Professor Natalie Drake, Head of International Foundation Pathways at the University of Reading Global Academy; Associate Professor Bruce Howell, Director of Teaching and Learning at the University of Reading Global Academy; and Kecheng Liu, Director of the Digital Talent Academy at Henley Business School, University of Reading. The ceremony was also attended by professors from the University of Cambridge, further highlighting the international academic environment surrounding the programme.
The Foundation Programme at British Management University is a one-year academic programme developed in partnership with the University of Reading. It is designed to prepare students for undergraduate study by providing them with the academic knowledge, skills and experience required for successful progression to Bachelor's-level education.
For many students, completion of the Foundation Programme represents the transition from secondary education to university-level study. Throughout the programme, students develop the academic foundations and learning skills needed to approach their future undergraduate studies with greater confidence and independence.
Upon successful completion, students receive a Foundation Certificate issued by the University of Reading, recognising the successful completion of this stage of their academic preparation. The programme provides a pathway towards Bachelor's studies at British Management University as well as opportunities to continue higher education at universities abroad.
The partnership with the University of Reading forms an important part of the programme's academic framework. The University of Reading is one of the UK's leading universities for teaching and research and is ranked among the Top 30 universities in the United Kingdom. Through this partnership, BMU students have the opportunity to undertake a Foundation Programme within an internationally oriented academic environment.
The Award Ceremony also provided an opportunity to recognise the contribution of the instructors who supported students throughout the year. Their academic guidance and commitment played an important role in helping students progress through the programme and prepare for the next stage of their education.
The achievements celebrated at the ceremony were also made possible through the continued support of students' families. Parents and families play an important role in students' educational journeys, and their presence at the ceremony added particular significance to the occasion.
For the graduates, receiving their certificates marked the completion of one chapter and the beginning of another. With their Foundation studies successfully completed, the students are now moving forward towards Bachelor's-level education, taking with them the academic experience and skills developed during their time at BMU.
British Management University congratulates the sixth cohort of Foundation Programme graduates on this important achievement and recognises the dedication they demonstrated throughout their studies.
The University also extends its appreciation to the University of Reading for its continued partnership and for joining BMU in celebrating this significant milestone with the students, as well as to the instructors, families and everyone who contributed to the success of the programme.
The Foundation Programme marks the beginning of a wider academic journey, and for the sixth cohort, the next stage now begins.
